Will crises make us or destroy us? A crisis makes us or destroys us, depending on the path we choose in times of crisis.

Bad companies are destroyed by crisis.

Good companies survive them.

Great companies are improved by them

– Andy Grove

The above quote was directed at business entities but every relationship is an organization of significant importance. They are all prone and will face crises- marriage, family, groups, community, etc.

What causes a crisis? What do we do when we face a crisis? Do we allow it to tear us apart, do we simply survive it, or do we use it to learn and grow?

If we get overwhelmed by a crisis, the relationship we invested in could come to nothing.

If we merely survive it, and it unfortunately rears its ugly head somehow in the future, we may still eventually lose the relationship.

But when we learn from challenges and become better. The relationship, be it in business, marriage, family, etc becomes strengthened and more fruitful.

Embracing courage in times of challenge is our commitment to the faith. For us as professing Christians, the Bible even gave some tips on what to expect- we will pass through fire. 🔥

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

‭Isaiah 43:2 NIV‬

Fire can consume or refine. The scarce gems will have to pass through a lot of heat. Under heat, the fake will dissolve.

God has refined you and me through Christ. We are his masterpiece. Let’s endure the crisis by His special grace, learn, and improve our lives.
